Hymns on the Ukulele: Trust and Obey

Ukisociety has several hymns he plays on the ukulele.  With “Trust and Obey”  he uses the chords F C7, F, C, F, Bb.

When I was growing up we would go every Sunday to the big, white church on the corner.  Every service started with “Holy, Holy, Holy”.  I used to know the first three stanzas by heart, but that was a few years ago.

Isn’t the Ukulele from the Lute class of Stringed Instruments?

  1. 1 Samuel 18:6
  2. When the men were returning home after David had killed the Philistine, the women came out from all the towns of Israel to meet King Saul with singing and dancing, with joyful songs and with tambourines and lutes.
    1 Samuel 18:5-7 (in Context)
  3. 2 Chronicles 20:28
They entered Jerusalem and went to the temple of the LORD with harps and lutes and trumpets.
    2 Chronicles 20:27-29
